Between 1975-1979, four major theater companies were created in Evanston, three of which still exist today. An additional 25 theater companies have come and gone. Join Gloria Bond Clunie, Founding Artistic Director of Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre, BJ Evans, Artistic Director of Northlight Theatre, and Shira Piven of Piven Theatre, together with theater scholar Mark Larson and others, as they reflect back on the memories, movements, people, and productions that shaped Evanston theater. We’ll also discuss what this means for theater in Evanston today, 50 years later.
