through November 15, 2024: Thursday – Sunday, Tours at 1, 2, and 3 pm.

Holiday Hours November 15, 2024-January 5, 2025: Thursday – Sunday, Open for exhibition and self-guided house tour 1 – 4 pm  One hour guided house tour at 2pm

Tuesday – Thursday: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Holiday Hours

The Evanston History Center is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, Thanksgiving, December 23-25, and December 30-31.

**Non-members can enjoy free house tours on the first Thursday of every month.

Accessibility

The Evanston History Center is wheelchair accessible on the first floor only. There is a wheelchair lift on the driveway and a ramp into the house. The lift must be operated by a staff person, please call the Evanston History Center at 847-475-3410 or notify the front desk upon arrival. There are six steps up to the front door with railings.

The second floor, where some exhibits are located, is accessible via one and a half flights of stairs.

The research room is located in the basement via one flight down with railings and four additional steps inside the research room.

Bring your group

Groups of eight or more will receive a discount when reserving at least two weeks in advance.

Themed tours are available, such as servant life, the arts, architecture, and technological change.

The Evanston History Center can be reached via public transportation. The Purple Line Dempster station is approximately one half mile from the Center and the and the Metra Union Pacific North Main Street and Davis Street stations are approximately nine tenths of a mile from the Center.

Free street parking is located in front of the Evanston History Center on Greenwood Street.
