Latinos have been a part of Evanston’s community since at least 1885, yet this vibrant history is only now beginning to be collected and documented. This effort is led by local nonprofit Evanston Latinos. Join us for the second gathering of Nuestras Historias en Evanston to learn more about Latino neighbors building home and community in Evanston. Guests include Paula Cofresi Silverstein, author of Bomba Spirit: Life Journeys of a Brown Island Girl, the founders of Puerto Abierta Preschool, and more. This event will be moderated by Evanston Latinos and will be conducted in English with Spanish translation available.
Part of Home: Evanston, an exploration of what it means to make a home, and feel at home, in Evanston.
