How do historic collections serve a purpose and provide influence and meaning to contemporary fashion designers? Join us during Chicago Fashion Week as young Chicagoland designers and makers, all of whom are finalists in the History Center’s second reFashioning History design competition and exhibition, engage in lively conversation about their work, process, and historic influences. Moderated by Gregory Graham, 2024 reFashioning History finalist. Includes free admission to the reFashioning History exhibition and the historic Dawes House.

With participating designers: Jess Crane, Gabriella Garza (showcase winner, student category), Aamina Haykal-Iyare, Maribel Melanson (showcase winner, professional category), and Sam Pogson.

About Gregory Graham, moderator

Gregory Graham is a Chicago based costume designer and milliner who studied theater design at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has a passion for storytelling and details. He has had the opportunity to design for great theatres across Chicago and Wisconsin such as Steppenwolf, Court Theatre, Remy Bumppo, and Writers Theatre. He strives to not only meet but exceed the expectations of the production team and, most importantly, contribute to the overall success of the performance. Gregory is also a crafts artisan with a background in DIY, upcycling, and performance.
