Take in the true magic of the season as the Chris White Trio performs the beloved and iconic music from Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" inside an Evanston setting like no other- the magical Dawes House, decorated for the holidays. This special concert offers an opportunity to experience live the timeless jazz melodies that have become synonymous with the holiday season. Before the concert, explore the Dawes House, decorated for the holidays and check out the It's All Fun and Games annual exhibit.
About the artist
Originally from Toronto, Chris White has gained recognition through his albums Young at Heart and Tributaries. At home in a host of genres and settings, he has made his name as a go-to freelance pianist, arranger and accompanist in the Chicago area. His performance credits include the Chicago Jazz Festival, The Jazz Showcase, The Green Mill, Winter’s Jazz Club, Cliff Bell’s, Catalina Jazz Club (Los Angeles), Feinstein’s/54 Below (NYC) among others. He has also performed overseas in Japan, Thailand and Germany.

Guests of all ages will enjoy classic teas and a menu of sweet and savory treats by Patisserie Coralie in a historic setting, while making vintage-style pomanders (orange and clove ornaments) and other holiday crafts. Includes a short tour of the decorated Dawes House, music, vintage toys, admission to the “It’s All Fun and Games” exhibition* and photo opportunities in the decorated Dawes House. All ages.
*Note that a portion of the exhibit is on the second floor, accessible via one and a half flights of stairs.

Includes a one hour tour by historian Kris Hartzell that covers the architecture of the landmark museum home, details on the five historic period Christmas trees, and stories of how this home was enlivened during the holidays by the Dawes family. Also includes refreshments, live piano music, admission to the “It’s All Fun and Games” holiday exhibit on classic toys, games and books created right here in Evanston.
